Cozy Mysteries are big right now, and I think my style, suitably modified, lends itself to a good mystery. So my next series will be called The Quadrangle Murders, and there will be four books (obvs). If you subscribe to my newsletter you will get the chance to be involved in the creation of the series and contribute your ideas.
I don’t remember where the idea came from for a quadrangle. It just popped in there (name the movie) but it suddenly seemed to work for a series and made sense. There will be four separate, self-contained stories, with a theme running through that you’ll need to read all four books to work out.
It could take a while to write four books – Lee Child famously writes one book a year, and he’s experienced. But there are people who knock out a book a month or less. My aim is four books in two years, bearing in mind that I still have a day job (for now). I hope to improve on this if at all possible, and will release updates and covers as I go along. I may wait until I’ve got two books finished before I release the first, just so that readers can get their teeth into the series.
Oh yes, the working title of the first book is Corner House One.
